Cathay Pacific
In a worldwide survey by Skytrax, an airline consultancy based in the United Kingdom, Cathay Pacific was one of the six airlines to have a five star rating. Cathay was also recognised as an airline that observes safety travel practises and proper systems-control of airlines.
Cathay’s operations include cargo services and booked passengers to 114 destinations around the world. The airline provides guaranteed services, facilities, and benefits to valued passengers.
In terms of food, Cathay Pacific Catering Services provides beverages and food to passengers leaving Hong Kong. The Catering Services Limited also caters in-flight special meals from airports in Vancouver, British Columbia, Ontario and Columbia. All Cathay’s planes have seats equipped with Personal TVs that feature Cathay’s entertainment system, the Studio CX. New seats have a personal closet, a massage function, ottoman, and adjustable PTV. Cabins of different classes are convertible into a fully flat bed where the passengers can experience more relaxing travel.
Two loyalty programmes are also offered by Cathay Pacific: the Asia Miles and Marco Polo Club. Becoming members of these clubs, especially the Marco polo Club, entitles travellers to benefits such as lounge access, extra baggage allowance, upgrades and priority booking. A mandatory registration fee for Marco Polo is 50 USD. However, failure to travel as required in the travel criteria will result in a termination of membership. Members of Marco Polo are automatically registered as members of Asia Miles.
These services are available in all 117 planes operated by Cathay Pacific. 51 of these planes are set for long distance flights and 44 for short distance flights. Only wide body jets are operated by Cathay.
