The thrill of dog fighting

A dogfight is an aerial fight between fighter aircrafts. During World War I, a pilot had to turn off the engine to reduce air resistance in order to turn back in the same direction. Someone on the ground commented that the aircraft sounded like the bark of a dog. Since then, the term dog fighting has been used in aerial fighting.

How did dog fighting begin? Fearless pilots decided to bombard the enemy by throwing grenades, bricks, and ropes, hoping to entangle enemy planes. This was before pilots used guns.

In 1916, Oswald Boelcke analysed the strategies of aerial warfare, including using the sun and altitude.

In World War II, aircrafts Nakajima KI-27, Nakajima Ki-43 and the Mitsubishi A6M Zero were designed by the Japanese to play a primary role in fighting the Messerschmitt Bf 109, the Yakpvlev Yak-1 and the Curtiss P-40 which were designed by Britain, Germany, the United Kingdom, Cambodia and the United States.

Lieutenant Commander John S. Thach found out that Zero Aircraft could defeat the enemy planes by moving from side to side. Today, jets can be used for dog fights. Dog fighting is dependent on the pilot’s skill and experience, and of course his ability to get the enemy to lose control of their planes.

Today, dog fighting is used in the battle. Technology has enhanced the equipment and impressive gadgets are used in aircraft today. If you have any sporting videos you need storing, click here to find out the advantages of ssd.
